BEST FRIEND EVER

Friendship isn't always easily described. FRIENDS have a hundred different words for snow. Unfortunately, the English language isn't quite as innovative, though it has vast opportunities to differentiate meaning. Certainly, Love is one of those opportunities. And so, too, is Friendship.
Instead of different words, however, we're stuck with simple adjectives. Close friend. Best friend. Childhood friend. Intimate friend. Trusted friend. Beloved friend. But whether you use adjectives or different words, few could deny the nearly infinite meaning in such a simple word.
Friends are special people. We can't pick our family, and we're sorely limited in the number of them at any rate. Society and mores (and often our own conscience) dictate we select a single mate. But our friends can be as diverse and infinite as the adjectives we choose. Our friends, in a very real sense, reflect the choices we make in life.
ABOUT HER...........
You know when you are so amazed at how you could ever find that special friend whom shares your every moment? Who reaches for you exactly how you hoped, and always, always, helps make your dreams come true?! That's what my best friend is to me. We are inseparable! I love you Ker!!!
Friendship is something to hold on to
But for me that's not the case
Cause I don't feel I need to keep
Something that can't be erased
I am sure of what I have
Cause with you I have no doubt
For what we've built, can't ever fail
It's what I care about
I find it hard to describe
This thing that we share
Especially when there's nothing else
That ever could compare
Others always know
That together we will be
For there can never be another
"Tani and Kerrie"
Those two words, known all over
Might as well be one
Cause without a Kerrie, there is no Tani
I'm sorry, it just can't be done
For you're the "U", and I'm the "S"
And forever that will be
Cause together we make "US", and so
YOU COMPLETE ME!!
THANK U MY BELOVED....

FRIENDSHIP STORY
Hare was very popular with the other animals in the jungle who all claimed to be her friends. One day she heard the hounds approaching her and hoped to escape them by the aid of her Friends. So, she went to the horse, and asked him to carry her away from the hounds on his back. But he declined, stating that he had important work to do for his master. "He felt sure," he said, "that all her other friends would come to her assistance." She then applied to the bull, and hoped that he would repel the hounds with his horns. The bull replied: "I am very sorry, but I have an appointment with a lady; but I feel sure that our friend the goat will do what you want." The goat, however, feared that his back might do her some harm if he took her upon it. The ram, he felt sure, was the proper friend to ask for help. So she went to the ram and told him the case. The ram replied: "Another time, my dear friend. I do not like to interfere on the present occasion, as hounds have been known to eat sheep as well as hares." The Hare then applied, as a last hope, to the calf, who regretted that he was unable to help her, as he did not like to take the responsibility upon himself, as so many older persons than himself had declined the task. By this time the hounds were quite near, and the Hare took to her heels and luckily escaped.

OUR COLLEGE PRINCIPAL

Born and brought up in the industrial town of Batala in the State of Punjab, the impressionable years of my life were deeply influenced by my parents and revered teachers in the school, and later, in the Baring Union Christian College, Batala. There was no magic mantra: the parents and teachers by precept and practice drilled into my mind the values of diligence, austerity, regularity and discipline. I pursued my Post Graduation at D.A.V. College, Amritsar affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar securing my Masters in Economics. After a short stint as a lecturer at B.U.C. College, Batala; Chandigarh growing as a great centre of learning drew me to the City Beautiful. My Nineteen years of teaching experience in G.G.D.S.D. College, Chandigarh inter-alia included significant contribution in the construction activities of the college, NCC Officership, Bursership, Controllership of Examination committee, Hostel Wardenship, Incharge of various sports events and Cultural activities. My contribution in the realm of research are: M.Phil thesis titled “Growth and Performance of the Punjab State Cooperative Banks” (1988) and the Ph.D thesis titled “Growth and Performance of Cooperative Financing in the Agrarian Economy of Haryana” (1993).
I have authored around fifty books on topics such as Micro Economics, Macro Economics, Business Economics, Business Mathematics, Quantitative Techniques, Money, Banking, International Economics, Public Finance, Development & Growth, Classical and Modern Thought etc.
Selection as Principal of GGDSD College, Chandigarh in 1995 (25.9.1995) gave me an opportunity to translate into action certain concepts and ideas which I firmly believed in during my academic career both as student and teacher.
I came to realize that the role of parents and teachers in moulding the minds and character of students is of vital importance. This gave me the impetus to follow the dormant desire of my heart to take up the important vocation of a teacher.
A JOURNEY FROM CONCEPTUALIZATION TO EXECUTION
With due deference to the romantic ideals of Gurukuls where students sit under the shade of a tree at the feet of a Guru seem not to serve the purposes of a modern institution, particularly when it is deemed to serve a vast population which is both aware and aspirational. We do need state-of-the-art infrastructure in labs, classrooms, audio visual aids, and various other facilities including virtual and digital libraries. The concept of traditional pedagogy is fast becoming obsolete in moderns times. The awareness, vision and outlook of a student needs inputs beyond the view of the traditional teacher. The explosion of knowledge is so fast and enormous that the teachers do tend to become dated if he has not the where-withall of renewal of information. All the above demand that faculty improvement goes on regularly in a sustained format.
In the post globalization period, the fast changing scenario warranted restructuring of education and the need to reorient resources and create infrastructures optimally conducive to producing of skilled and dexterous and trained personnel direly needed by the industry in particular and society in general. The belief that education must cater both to the “ Life and Living” always remained an inspiring motto. There was, at the same time the need to ensure that knowledge totally devoid of humanistic concerns and aesthetic appreciation & deep reverence for the abiding values could stifle the personality of the students and thus make them lopsided personalities. In order to stimulate a sense of national pride in youth as heirs of a mosaic spiritual tradition and cultural diversity there was need to evolve ways and means to instil in them a sense of civic responsibilities.
ABOUT MY COLLEGE....*S.D COLLEGE*
The Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College was set up at Chandigarh in 1973 in the revered memory of the illustrious Tyagmurti, who, inspired by the spirit of service and sacrifice epitomized in the life of the Late Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya, became the torch bearer of those ethical and spiritual verities which are enjoined by our scriptural wisdom, and form the quintessence of Sanatan Dharma. Words are too inadequate to delineate the life and character of the spiritual genius that Tyagmurti Goswami Ganesh Duttaji was. The Management has honoured itself by associating his name with this college. Goswamiji was a dazzling symbol of self-abnegation and selfless service. Inspired by his mentor Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan malviya -a pioneer in the movement of social and cultural revival in India, Goswamiji addressed himself to the noble task of the revival of India's rich legacy in all seriousness.
Though he was a staunch Sanatanist, yet he believed that reformation and innovation in no way run counter to the tenets of Sanatan Dharma. Goswamiji came out openly in support of Gandhiji, when the latter started his campaign for the abolition of untouchability. It was through his persuasive efforts that All resolutions regarding the entry of Harijans into temples,
widow remarriage etc., which effected a silent revolution in the social and eclectic thinking of the orthodox sections of Hindus.
Being an ascetic he did not join the freedom struggle as a volunteer, but extended his active and whole hearted support to this movement. He was held in high esteem by the national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Goswamiji gave his unstinted support - moral and financial to the families of the freedom fighters and workers of the Indian National Congress and its allied organisations.Goswamiji's life was a saga of selfless service and sacrifice.Goswamiji visualized Chandigarh as a principal cultural centre and wanted it to be the hub of Sanatanist activities. He wanted to start a first rate college in the City Beautiful. His dream could not be realised in his life time.
It became possible to resuscitate those plans in 1972, when, led by Pt. Mohan Lal, formerly Education, Home and Finance Minister Punjab and President Sanatan Dharma Pratinidhi Sabha, Punjab and Sanatan Dharma Education Board, some admirers of the illustrious Tyagmurti Goswami Ganesh Dutta Ji, eminent educationists, prominent lawyers and public men from the Union Territory of Chandigarh and the states of Punjab,
Haryana and Himachal Pradesh met in this City Beautiful and decided to raise a first rate College in his revered memory. Prof. Roshan Lal Verma donated his entire life's savings amounting to a lakh and ten thousand and thus facilitated its opening. Consequently, the Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College Society was duly registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 to run and affiliate various institutions. In 1987 it established Pandit Mohan Lal S. D. Public School in Chandigarh. In 1995 it started Pandit Mohan Lal S. D. College for Women, Gurdaspur (Punjab). In 1997 it established Centre for Professional Courses at Chandigarh.
